푹 쉬러 온 것은 맞는데,
거실 쇼파에서 TV보다 잠들 생각은 없었다.
I came here to relax,
but I did not intended to fall asleep while watching TV.
잠이 깨어보니
6시 30분쯤 되었는데,
과일을 한참 먹다가 잠들었던 터라
배가 딱히 고프지는 않은데
안 먹기는 뭔가 아쉬웠다.
It was around 6:30
when I woke up.
I was not that hungry
because I ate some fruits before sleeping.
But I did not want to skip dinner somehow.
그래서
한식당이 있다길래 내려갔는데
엉뚱하게 2층에 내려왔다.
So I was thinking of Korean restaurant operated by the Apartments,
but I went down to the 2nd floor without any idea
2층은 Park Cafe.
Park Cafe was on the 2nd floor.
(Korean Restaurant was on the lower lobby)
한식도 엄청 땡기는 것 아니었던 지라
그냥 자리 안내 받고 식사하기로 했다.
I was not dying for Korean food,
so I let myself guided by the server.
식당은 꽤나 넓었는데
식사하는 사람이 거의 없었다.
The restaurant was huge, but empty almost.
이래서 장사 되겠나? 걱정...
Are they making money here? worried
맛이 없나? 걱정...
Are they cooking bad? worried.
식사용 빵이 나왔다.
Bread.
빵은 기대 안 했는데
생각보다 촉촉하고 맛있었다.
Unexpectedly,
it was more moist and delicious than I thought.
우선 코스는 2인 이상 주문이 필요했던
기억이 있다.
To my memory, set menu required minimum 2 persons.
그래서 알라카르트(a la carte) 주문을 했다.
That is why I ordered a la carte menu.
애피타이저로 코코넛 슈림프.
fried coconut shrimp.
새우가 아주 그냥 탱탱하니
맛있었다.
다만 저 소스는 시판용인지
냉장고에서 한참을 두었다가 나온 것처럼 차디찼다.
Its texture was quite resilient,
which I really like it.
However, the sauce was so cold
like it was preserved in the fridge for hours
기껏 따뜻한 튀김 서빙하시면서
이렇게 차디찬 소스를 주시면
조금 당황...
It was a bit confusing
to serve hot fries with super cold sauce.
농어 스테이크.
Sea bass steak
비주얼은 약간 많이 부족하다.
처음 딱 봤을 때는
"그냥 생선구이네..."
Its visual was not impressive.
"just a fish steak, no more than that"
그치만 먹다보면 맛있다.
However, it was better than it looked.
처음에는
바삭하다못해 딱딱한 구이의 식감이
약간 거슬린다고 생각했는데,
그렇게 딱딱하게 구워냈어도
속살은 촉촉하게 살아있었다.
그것이 바로 이 스테이크의 반전 매력.
At first,
I though too much crispiness is unpleasant.
But inside was still moist and softened.
That was the twist I found in this dish.
식감의 대조가
단조로울 수 있는 농어구이의 먹는 재미를 높였다.
This contrast doubled the joy of this sea bass streak,
which might be too simple itself.
아스파라거스도 생각보다
신선하고
잘 구우셨다.
무슨 비법 기름이 있는 것 같지는 않은데
아스파라거스나 농어나
엄청 평범해보이는데
먹을수록 비주얼과는 달랐다.
Asparagus was fresh and well fried.
Although I could not sense any special techniques,
the taste was getting better.
2개 메뉴를 주문한 가격은
62,000원.

객실번호랑 서명 적고 나서
따로 확인은 안 했는데,
나중에 체크인할 때보니까
투숙객 할인이 10%들어가 있었다.
I left my room number and my signature.
At check-out, I found guest discount applied.
<조식 breakfast buffet>
애초에 객실을 Orbitz에서 예약할 때
조식은 포함이 아니었다.
When I book a room at Orbitz,
the deal did not include breakfast.
그치만 체크인 할 때
조식을 포함하겠냐고 물어주셨다.
체크인 시에 추가하면
할인된 가격에 먹을 수 있다고 설명해주셨다.
However,
the reception asked me
if I wanted to have a breakfast here.
They told me
that I could get a discount
if I let them include breakfast and charge at this moment.
신라는 해줄 수 있을 것 같았는데
신라호텔 직접 예약 고객만 된다고 거절했었지만,
롯데 서울 메인타워와 여기 메리어트 아파트먼트는
직접예약하지 않았어도 체크인할 때
할인가격을 제시해주셔서 감사했다.
At the Shilla Seoul,
they refused to offer a discounted breakfast
because I did not book directly with them.
On the contrary,
Lotte Hotel Seoul Main Tower and Marriott Apartment here
first offered me to add a breakfast at a discounted rate.
I am always thankful for their care.
별거 아닐 수 있지만
이걸로 나는 항상 신라를 까고 있다.
ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
It may be nothing to others, not me.
I always compare the Shilla with other hotels
regarding the discounted breakfast offer.

유제품 및 과일.
차, 빵, 더운 물 등.
식사용 빵류.
프렌치 토스트와 와플 등
벵레오젱? 등 대니쉬 스타일 패스트리.
씨리얼, 올리브, 견과 등
햄과 치즈.
이 가격에 기대 안 했는데
코파햄이 있었다.
아무도 안 건드린 것 같길래
내가 거의 다 가져왔다.
ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
There was coppa ham,
which I did not expected here at this price.
I took most of them
because nobody seems to see that there.
샐러드, 묵, 쿠키 등
훈제연어.
핫푸드 스테이션.
종류가 별로 없는 것 같았지만
이것저것 차린 것이 많아서
생각보다 촬영할 게 많아
당황스러웠다.
At first sight,
I thought the buffet had a small variety.
But it has a great variety of food for the price.
한식 반찬도 13종.
어린이용 시리얼과 쟁반.
튀김류.
구운 감자, 맛탕, 구운 브로콜리, 구운 버섯 등
원래 Orbitz에 나온 조식가격은
32,670원.
The orginal price listed on Orbitz was
KRW 32,670.
그렇지만 체크인 데스크의 배려로
26,620원에 조식을 해결할 수 있었다.
Thanks to the receptionist,
I could have this wonderful meal at KRW 26,620
(around USD23, inclusive of tax and service)
<총평>
호텔 입장에서 안 남을 것 같은 장사.
it may not be profitable.
가짓수가 상당히 많고
음식도 엄청 잘하시는 것 같다.
A great variety of food.

저녁 농어구이 때
다소 투박한 비주얼에서
빛을 바라던 조리솜씨가
조식에서도 다시 한번 빛을 내시는 것 같았다.
The cook showed his/her ability
though the plating was not perfect.
Park Cafe는
엄청 뷰가 좋지는 않지만
꼭 조용한 곳에서 식사하고 싶다면
추천하겠다.
음식은 값어치를 했다고 생각한다.
I would recommend Park Cafe
if you are looking for a quiet place,
because I think it was worth the price.
조식은
강력추천.
32000원대라고 해도
상당히 훌륭한 구성과 맛이었다.
I strongly recommend the breakfast buffet.
Combination of menus and taste was wonderful
for the price.
