거의 망했다고 보면되는

나트랑 혼자 여행.

I found this trip a bit unsuccessful.

망한 이유 중 가장 중요한 것은

바로 날씨.

One of the reasons why it was not successful was

the weather during my stay.

나는 12월에 동남아가

대부분 건기가 시작되는 시점이라고 생각하고

별 생각없이 나트랑 티켓을 예약했다.

I believed

that the entire South East Asia would be in a dry season in December,

and I just booked a cheap flight.

근데 웬걸...

나트랑은 1-2월쯤은 되야

건기가 시작되는 모양.

However,

Nha Trang was not.

Dry season seems to begin from January or February there.

공항에서 내려서

리조트 셔틀타고 체크인할 때까지만해도

날씨가 괜찮았었다.

The weather was good

until I checked in at the resort lobby, 

and entered the room

그런데

객실에 들어가자마자

비가 하늘이 뚫린 것처럼

우두두두두두두 쏟아지고

바람이 바람이 어쩜 그렇게 세게 부는 건지...

However,

as soon as I entered the room,

it poured like there was a big hole in the sky,

and it blew like a storm is passing the area.

프라이빗 비치에서

파도소리 들으면서

책이나 좀 읽다가 가려던게 전부였는데,

절대 불가!!

ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

All I wanted from these vacations was

just chilling with calming sound of wave and ocean breeze,

which was impossible to enjoy under that weather conditions.

다행히 리조트가 상당히 잘 꾸며져있었고

시설측면에서는 우수한 편이었기 때문에

그걸 생각하면

섣불리 망했다고 하기는 좀 애매하다.

The resort itself was well designed in many ways, which I loved it.

So it is too harsh to say that my vacations were totally ruined.

그래서 '망한듯한' 나트랑/나짱 여행.

ㅋㅋㅋㅋ

That is why the title has the word 

"seemingly unsuccessful"

퓨전 리조트 깜란은

Orbitz VIP 호텔.

Fusion Resort Cam Ranh

is a Orbitz VIP resort.

그래서 예약한 것도 있고,

이 호텔은 1객실당 1일 최대 2시간

무료 마사지가 포함되어 있고,

조식도 포함되어 있어서

가성비가 뛰어나다고 생각했다.

That is one of the reasons why I booked it.

Plus, I concluded that the resort had a lot to offer for the price.

maximum 2-hour complimentary spa treatment per room per day,

breakfast buffet was included.

Very cost-effective!

물론

나트랑 시내랑 멀다는 단점이 있기는 하다.

리조트 셔틀타고 나트랑 센터(쇼핑몰 이름)까지

약 편도 40분 정도.

대신 공항에서는 15분 정도 걸린다.

Of course, there is a downside: location.

It is 40 minutes away from Nha Trang Center, a shopping mall

while it is 15 minutes away from the airport.

공항 픽업 셔틀버스는

무료가 아니다.

VND 75,000.

미리 호텔에 신청해야 한다.

The airport pick-up and drop-off is not free.

You have to request it in advance and pay VND 75,000.

예전에 Orbitz 할인코드는

기본 15% 할인이었는데

이제는 10%로 떨어졌다. ㅠㅠ

Orbitz discount rate by its promo code used to be 15%,

but it dropped to 10%.

이제는 Orbitz의 노예생활에서

조금씩 벗어나려고 노력 중.

Now I am trying to get away from Orbitz

little by little.

호텔 로비에서 프라이빗 비치까지의 전경.

이 리조트는 규모가 어마어마한데,

기본적으로 로비에서 바닷가/수영장까지

연결되는 공간은 이렇게 길게 뚤어놓으면서

공간이 효율성 따위는 전혀 고려하지 않는

럭셔리를 뽐내고 있다.

The size of resort is massive.

There is very long path from the lobby to the sea and pool.

It does not really seem to care about efficient use of space,

which may be the luxury this resort is trying to offer.

저 수로가 약 80-100m 가량

이어지는 것 같다.

The canal appeared to be 80-100 meter long.

조명이 설치되어 있어서

나름 운치 있다.

There was lights installed,

which you can feel some vibe.

체크인 데스크 있는 곳은

직원들도 있고

투숙객들이 계속 머무르고 있어서

사진을 찍지 못했다.

I did not take a picture of the lobby room with the register desk

because I avoid people in my picture.

대신 밤에 사람이 없길래

체크인 데스크 건너편에 있는

로비 라운지(?)를 찍었다.

So I took a picture of the other lobby area at night.

리조트가 넓기 때문에

이렇게 보도블럭으로 길이 나있기도 하고

아니면 내가 투숙했던 객실처럼,

학교 운동장 흙바닥 같은 길이 있다.

이 흙바닥 같은 길은

버기카가 다니는 길.

Since the resort is so big,

some paths have paving blocks and others do not:

the others for buggy cars

객실에서 로비에 연락하면

버기카를 태워주는데,

내 객실은 로비에서 너무 가까워서

굳이 버기카를 탈 필요가 없었다.

You can take the buggy

if you call it to the lobby.

But I did not use it

because my villa was so close to the lobby.

이개 내가 투숙했던 빌라.

This is the villa where I stayed.

이 빌라를 독채로 내가 투숙했으면 좋겠지만

1층에 객실이 2개가 좌우로 배치되어 있다.

2층에는 객실이 2개인지 1개인지 확인하지 못했다.

I wish I could have booked the entire two-story villa.

On the ground floor, there are two separate rooms.

I am sure whether it has one or two separate rooms on the second floor.

Orbitz VIP 리조트여서

객실 업그레이드를 기대했지만

실패했다.

Since it was a Orbitz VIP resort,

I expected an upgrade,

but they did not

나름 객실이 꽉찬 모양이다.

그도 그럴 것이

한국인들이 엄청 많았다.

There might not be availability.

I guess so

because there were so many Korean guests.

깜란 공항에서 출국 수속할 때는

중국인 비율이 월등하지만,

이 리조트에서만큼은 한국인 비중이 더 높았다.

In Cam Ranh airport,

you can see Chinese tourists about four times as many as Koreans,

whereas the ratio of Koreans to Chinese here was quite the opposite.

이 코끼리의 좌우에

객실로 들어가는 문이 하나씩 있다.

There is a elephant between two room doors.

내 객실은 223호.

My room number was 223.

카드키를 주는데,

나무로 된 미닫이 문이라서

잠긴건지 안 잠긴건지

잘 확인이 안된다.

I had a card key,

but I could not check if it was well-locked

since the door was sliding manually

요 코끼리 옆의 문도

나무로 걸어 잠기는 수동식이라서

약간 불안한 감이 없지않아 있지만

그냥 막 다녔다.

비가 계속 와서

객실을 나갈 일이 많지도 않았고...

The room door lock next to the elephant was also manual.

I was a bit worried about security,

but I became... just like, let it happen.

Plus, I had no much time to be outside of the room

thanks to the heavy rain and strong wind.

객실마다 작은 야외 정원이 있다.

Each suite has a small garden.

계단으로 올라가는 조경도 잘 해놨다.

It was well-landscaped near the steps.

이 리조튼

웰빙, 자연주의 이런 컨셉인 것 같고,

그래서 조경과 자연채광에 많은 신경을 쓴게

쉽게 눈에 들어왔다.

I think

this resort has a theme of nature and well-being,

and it cared much about the landscape and natural lights coming in.

하지만 역으로

이렇게 흐리고 비오는 날에는

객실 전체가 너무 어둑해지는 단점이 있는데,

그걸 몸소 체험했다.

Vice versa,

it was a weak point as well.

when raining,

the entire room gets darkened,

which I experienced myself.

객실은 엄청 넓다.

제일 낮은 등급의 객실이지만

100 제곱미터나 넘는 크기.

침실도 크고

욕실/화장실도 엄청 크다.

It has a huge space.

It is the lowest grade of the rooms,

but it exceeds 100 squared meters.

Bedroom was huge,

bathroom was large as well.

침대 뒤의 테이블.

침대 옆의 데이베드(?).

각도 조절이 가능하다.

Day beds(?) next to the main bed.

You can control the angle.

큰 거울로만 보이겠지만

저것이 옷장.

there are two hidden closets

이런 옷장이 한개 더 있다.

옷장 우측에 있는 다기류 및 미니바/냉장고.

On the right,

you can see the minibars and utensils for teas and coffee.

옷장 좌측에 있는 데스크.

On the left,

you can see a desk.

TV.

TV는 바닥에 내장되어있다가

필요할 때 열어서 볼 수 있다.

머피 베드(murphy bed)와 

비슷한 개념이라고 보면 될 것 같다.

TV is built-in.

you can lift it up when you need it.

It is like murphy beds.

양초가 들어간 등이

군데 군데 배치되어 있다.

Lamps with candles are place in several points.

켜보고 싶었는데

어떻게 여는지

어떻게 켜는지

모르겠어서 포기.

I tried to light it up,

but I did not know how and gave up.

전기포트, 생수, 다기류, 등.

pot, mineral waters, glasses and others.

냉장고 내 미니바.

refreshment within the fridge.

미니바 가격.

price list of the refreshment.

차는 Dilmah를 제공하고 있다.

Dilmah teas are provided.

이게 뭔가 하고 열어봤다.

I opened it wondering what it is.

커피가루.

It was coffee.

베트남식으로 커피를 마실 수 있게

커피가루가 준비되어 있다.

It was ready to be brewed in the Vietnamese style.

나같이 베트남식 커피 탈 줄 모르는 사람을 위한

안내문구.

Instructions

for those who, like me, do not make a Vietnamese coffee.

환영 과일.

Welcome fruits.

이렇게 풍성하게 환영과일을 주는 곳은

처음이었다.

It was my first time to receive a full basket of fruits

as welcome gift.

포도, 용안(롱간), 람부탄, 귤과 비슷한 뭔가, 베트남 자두(?) 등

지역에서 나는 과일이 한 가득.

a full basket of local fruits: grape, longan, lambutan, mandarin-like things, Vietnamese plum(?).

나중에 조식 뷔페에 다 있는 과일인 거 알고

약간 맥 빠짐.

ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

I was a bit disappointed

when I saw all the fruits in the breakfast buffet.

욕실.

bathroom.

욕실이 객실 못지 않게 넓어서

사진 한 컷에 담기 힘들었다.

It was every bit as big as the bed room,

which made me put everything into one shot.

반대쪽 코너에서 찍은 욕실.

이 욕실의 포인트는

공중부양 욕조.

The statement here is the bathtub,

which seemed like levitated.

실제 공중부양은 아니다.

배수도

바로 밑에 하수구로 물이 빠지게 되어있어서

공중부양처럼 착각을 일으키는 것일 뿐.

But it is not levitation.

It is drained without pipe to the sewage,

which help disguise it like levitation.

이 욕조가 보기에는 근사하지만

실용성 제로.

It may look cool,

but not practical at all.

우선 몸이 푹 안 담긴다.

욕조에 앉을 수도 없고

애매하게 누워있을 수 밖에 없다.

그리고 분명히 배수구를 잠궈놨는데도

졸졸 물 새는 소리가 나서 보니까

배수구 밀폐가 잘 안되는 것 같았다.

First of all, you cannot immerse yourself in the water.

You cannot sit well,

you can just lie down in a weird way.

Plus, there was a leakage.

The drainage hall was not well-sealed.

동영상도 쩍어놨는데

리조트에 보여줄까하다가 말았다.

I recorded a video of the leakage,

I thought of showing it to the management, but I just did not.

수건 걸이와 슬리퍼.

Towels and slippers.

중앙 세면대.

좌측에는 샤워실, 우측에는 화장실.

세면대 상단은 이렇게 되어 있다.

Counter top.

1회용 어메니티가

엄청 풍성하다.

a plenty of disposable amenities.

반짓고리도 준다.

이런 거 왜주나 싶었을뻔 했는데

도미니카에서 바지 단추가 터져서

상당히 유용한 어메니티라는 것을 깨달았다.

They offer a sewing kit.

I used not to know its necessity,

but I realized it 

after I got my button on my pants fallen off

in my business trip to Dominican Republic.

비누.

soap.

화장실.

toilet.

샤워실.

showerbooth.

두리안 같은 구린내 나는 과일은 반입 금지.

You cannot have smelly stuff such as durians.

객실 밖 데크.

Outdoor deck.

날씨 좋으면 애용했을 것 같다.

I could have enjoyed it without heavy rain.

내가 투숙하는 객실의 욕실.

the 2nd floor is for another guest,

the room with curtains down is my bathroom on the ground floor.

우선 객실까지만 먼저 포스팅하고,

수영장, 스파, 프라이빗 비치는

다음 포스팅에서 올리는 것으로..

I posted the room first,

Next time,

 I am going to posting about the pool, spa, and private beach.

<총평>

객실은 좋다.

넓기도 넓고

스위트 구조이고

친자연적인 웰빙 추구 느낌이 물씬 난다.

The room is great.

Spacious,

suite layout,

eco-friendly and well-being-like vibe.

매트리스는

트윈을 붙여놓은 게

약간 충격적인 사실이긴 했지만,

잠자는데 불편한 건 없었다.

It was a little shocking

when I saw a king bed made of two single beds.

But I had no problem with it when sleeping.

다만

나는 빌라 체질은 아닌게,

오션뷰 객실로 업그레이드를 못 받았더니

벽 뷰는 좀 답답했다. 

But, now I really realize

that I do not like villa

because the view is blocked by the wall.

앞으로는

업그레이드에 의존하지 않고

제 값 내고 오션뷰, 오션프론트 

이런 것만 예약해야겠다고

다짐했다.

I made a resolution

that I will pay more for ocean view or ocean front

without wishing a upgrade upon availability.
